Megan is a Business Leader for Schlage Residential Mechanical, a home and commercial defense hardware segment of Allegion. As an important part of the company’s supply chain, Megan is responsible for making sure they have the right products in the portfolio for their consumers, whether that be retail or wholesale.

My name is Megan Mills, I am the business leader for Schlage Mechanical Residential at Allegion. So as the business leader for the residential mechanical business, I'm responsible for making sure that we have the right product in the portfolio for our customers, whether it be consumers in big box or retail. You can buy online or you can buy in stores, or through our wholesalers. You can go through a locksmith. Or you can go through a showroom and purchase our products. So we have marketing activity, we have product management, product development. We also work through different functions within our team, to develop new ideas and be innovative in this space, so we have a lot of new roll outs that we are working on and trying to improve something that has been around for over 100 years. So on my desk right now I have actually a lot of product. We are in the middle of launching a new product, so our portfolio has expanded. We have a mid to high price point product. We are working on a very high price point and now so, a potential low price point product. So we are doing a lot of product reviews, sampling, working with suppliers, working with our internal teams to determine what the scope of that should look like. What the portfolio should look like, our price positioning, our marketing and our sales team are also helping us drive what the customers are asking for, so that we can make sure that we can fulfill their needs. We look at the PNL and make sure that our margins make sense and that our revenue makes sense that we're providing the operating income that's expected out of the business.
